Hanoi - Capital of Vietnam
Hanoi is a sacred land of Vietnam. The year 1010 then became an historical date for Hanoi and for the whole country in general.For about a thousand years, the capital was called Thang Long (Soaring Dragon), then changing to Dong Do, Dong Kinh, and finally to Hanoi, in 1831. This sacred piece of land thereafter continued to be the theatre of many fateful events. Throughout the thousand years of its eventful history, marked by destruction, wars and natural calamities, Hanoi still preserves many ancient architectural works including the Old Quarter and over 600 pagodas and temples. Famous sites include the One Pillar Pagoda (built in 1049), the Temple of Literature (built in 1070), Hanoi Citadel, Hanoi Opera House and President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum. Hanoi also has 18 beautiful lakes.

Hoa Binh Province

Hoa Binh is a mountainous province in the North. The annual average temperature varies between 23 and 25ºC. Hoa Binh Town is 76km from Hanoi. The culture of Hoa Binh combines several ethnic groups with their own languages, traditional literature and festivals. There is National Highway No. 6 from Hanoi vie Ha Tay to Hoa Binh, Son La, National Highway No. 15 from Mai Chau to Thanh Hoa, National Highway No. 12B from Hoa Binh to Nho Quan (Ninh Binh).

Attractions: 

Ha Giang Province
Located at the highest latitude in Vietnam. The annual average temperature varies between 24 and 28ºC. Ha Giang Town is 320km from Hanoi. Ha Giang is on National Highway No.2, 34, 279 linking to Yen Bai, Cao Bang, Lao Cai provinces in turn. Tourists can buy embroidery such as handkerchief, haversack, and dresses with colorful, fine patterns. They can also take part in enjoyable market-day of the local ethnics. The people and natural scenes here are unlike anywhere in Vietnam. Coming to Ha Giang, tourists are attracted by:

Lao Cai Province
Located 300km from Hanoi, Lao Cai can be reached by car or train. There is National Highway No.70, 279, 4D linking Lao Cai to Yen Bai, Lai Chau and Ha Giang, China in turn. Lao Cai preserves lots of special cultural, historical sites. Typical sites are Sapa ancient rock field; Sapa, a unique natural tourist site; Bac Ha has the biggest market in the highlands. Festivals here are very special also.

Phu Tho Province
Located in the Plains and Midland in the North of Vietnam. Phu Tho has a monsoon tropical climate. Viet Tri City, provincial capital, is 90km from Hanoi. It is on National Highway No.2 linking Hanoi with Ha Giang Province and China Border. The train from Hanoi to Lao Cai stops in Viet Tri. Phu Tho is considered as ancestral land of Vietnam. Den Hung (Hung Temple) remains are tied to the legend about 18 Kings Hung who built Van Lang State, the first one of Vietnam, with Phong Chau as the capital. With a bright culture, Phu Tho is home of many festivals.

Vinh Phuc Province
Vinh Phuc is on the railway route: Hanoi - Vinh Phuc - Phu Tho - Yen Bai - Lao Cai. There is National Highway No.2 linking to Phu Tho. Vinh Yen Town is 63km from Hanoi, about 30km from Noi Bai International Airport. Vinh Phuc has very favorable climatic conditions. Annual average temperature is 23.4ºC. Vinh Phuc attracts lot of tourists to  following beautiful landscapes.

Son La connects Hoa Binh by National Highway No. 6, Yen Bai by Highway No.37, Lao Cai by Higway No.279. Son La Town is 328km from Hanoi. In Na San Airport, Vietnam Airlines has daily flight from Hanoi to Son La. Annual average temperature is about 21ºC.

Lai Chau Town is 402km from Hanoi. The annual average temperature is 21ºC – 23ºC. Tourists will have an interest in the ethnic groups.

Dien Bien Province
It takes 474km from Hanoi following National Highway No. 6 to Tuan Giao and then the 279 to Dien Bien Phu. Beside that, there is Muong Thanh Airport in Dien Bien Phu, connecting Ha Noi – Dien Bien Phu. Dien Bien is mountainous tropical area. Dien Bien possesses charming natural scenery, also is also proud of many historic sites. Famous for the battle at with the French at Dien Bien Phu which ended their occupation of Vietnam.

Bac Ninh Province
Bac Ninh is located in the Red River Delta region. Bac Ninh is 30km from Hanoi, 110km from Haiphong, 20km from Bac Giang, 45km from Noi Bai International Airport. The annual average temperature is 24ºC. Bac Ninh used to be an ancient town, a trade centre of Vietnam from 2sd to 10th century. Bac Ninh has tangible and intangible cultural heritage and traditional handicraft villages.

Lang Son Province
Lang Son is a frontier mountainous province in the North-East of Vietnam, 154km from Hanoi, 60km from Thai Nguyen, 48km from Quang Ninh, 55km from Cao Bang, 73km from Bac Kan. Lang Son has two international border gates including Dong Dang railway border gate and Huu Nghi road border gate with China. Annual average temperature is 21.5ºC. Lang Son has mineral resources, forestry, tourism and trading. Tourists going to Lang Son will be interested in Ky Lua or Long Tong traditional festivals. They would enjoy special dishes: roast duck, roast pig, Mau Son wine and lam rice.

Cao Bang  Province
Cao Bang Province is located in the Far North – East, shares borders with China on the north and east, 272km north of Hanoi following National Highway No.3. Cao Bang has National Highway No.4B and 3 linking to Lang Son, Bac Kan, Ha Giang provinces and to China. The average temperature is 25 - 28ºC in summer and 16 – 17ºC in winter. Snow sometimes falls in winter on high mountains such as Trung Khanh, Tra Linh. The cool weather combines with many high mountains, beautiful sightseeings to form the convenient for relaxing tour and discovery tour. The traditional festivals have specific characteristics of ethnic groups.

Tuyen Quang Province
Situated on Far-North East, Tuyen Quang Town is 165km from Hanoi.Annual average temperature is 24ºC. Tuyen Quang owns 300 historical cultural vestiges. The famous one is Tan Trao Historical Site. It was used as a resistance base before the August 1945 Revolution. It is home of valuable fauna and flora such as dinh, mun (ebony trees), sen (bassia), ape, panther, flying weasel, antelope, and upturned-nosed monkey…

Thai Nguyen Province
Situated in Far North – East Vietnam, 80km from Hanoi. There is daily train from Hanoi to Quan Trieu, about 8km from center of Thai Nguyen City. Annual average temperature is 25ºC. Thai Nguyen has revolutionary tradition, historical vestiges including Van, Vo mountains, Dinh Hoa ATK vestige, and Duom Temple. Tourists are attracted by the scenery of Nui Coc Reservoir.

Yen Bai Province
Situated on the gateway to North-West Vietnam. Yen Bai City is 180km from Hanoi. Annual average temperature is from 18ºC to 28ºC. Ninh Binh Province
Situated on the Red River Delta, 90km far from Hanoi. The Reunification Express Train from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City stops at Ninh Binh Town. National Highway No.10 connects to Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa provinces and National Highway No.12B links to Hoa Binh Province.Annual average temperature is 23.4ºC. Hoa Lu Ancient Capital (in Truong Yen Commune, Hoa Lu District now) was chosen as the first capital of Vietnam feudal centralism regime and the Dai Co Viet's political, economic and cultural centre. Ninh Binh has beautiful tourist sites and famous traditional villages.

Hai Phong City
Hai Phong is 102km from Hanoi near to Quang Ninh province. The annual average temperature varies between 23ºC and 24ºC. Haiphong is on tourism route: Hanoi - Haiphong - Halong Bay. Tourists can visit Cat Ba National Park, and continue to Bai Tu Long Bay and Halong Bay (Quang Ninh Province)

Hai Duong Province
Hai Duong is on the Red River Delta, 58km from Hanoi, 45km from Haiphong, and 80km from Halong Bay.The province lies on railway and National Highway No.5: Hanoi – Hai Duong – Haiphong. The average temperature is 23.4ºC.  Long-standing history bequeaths hundreds of cultural, historic relics. This province is proud of traditional handicraft villages.

Quang Ninh Province
Quang Ninh is a mountainous and coastal province, 155km from Hanoi. There are many beautiful beaches and natural beauty spots: Ha Long Bay has been recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage due to its cultural, aesthetic, bio-geological and economic value. Besides, there are historical and architectural relics enabling the development of tours on land, sea and islands. Coming to Quang Ninh, tourists have good chance of enjoying seafood, including holothurians, abalone, shrimp, crab, areca, shellfish, gaillardia, etc.

Ha Tay Province
Located in the Red River Delta, 10km far from the center of Hanoi. The annual average temperature is about 23.8ºC. Ha Tay has many attractive landscapes. Ha Tay preserves 900 handicraft villages, of which 120 villages are recognized as “traditional handicraft villages”.

Coming to Thai Binh, tourists can enjoy visiting the inshore sandbanks where rare birds stop during migration. They can also see the natural beauty in mangrove forest, swimming in beach, and joining interesting traditional festivals. This province is rich in traditional handicraft villages.
