Description

Summary: This week long tour covers the key sites of Vietnam from Hanoi in the north to Hue in the center to Saigon in the south. Highlights include a cruise in the Halong Bay and explorations of the world heritage site at Hue. Hotels are of the highest standard and all transfers are by air-conditioned car with expert guides.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Hanoi

Upon arrival Noi Bai airport, pick up and transfer to hotel in the city centre. Rest of the day is free. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi - Halong (B/L)

Breakfast at hotel. Visit to Temple of Literature, Ngoc Son Temple, Ancient quarters of Hanoi. Trip to Halong, 170 km from Hanoi on east. Free on your own. Overnight at hotel in Halong.

Day 3: Halong - Hanoi (B/L)

Breakfast. Cruise to discover Halong Bay. Lunch on board. Return to Hanoi. Free to walk around Hanoi's old streets. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 4: Hanoi - Hue (B/L)

Free for shopping or at leisure. Take a flight to Hue. Arrival in Hue. Check into hotel. Free at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Hue.

Day 5: Hue - Sightseeing tour (B/L)

From the center of Hue, we board a dragon boat and travel on the scenic Huong River (Perfume River) to Thien Mu Pagoda (built in 1601 by King Nguyen Hoang), followed by a visit to the impressive tomb of King Minh Mang. The afternoon is spent exploring the Imperial Citadel and Forbidden City, where the Nguyen Kings settled and ruled Vietnam. The great value of this ancient landmark is the royal architectural complex, which has Saigon, we stop at the fascinating Dong Ba Market, where we can experience the bustle of daily life in been officially recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Overnight in Hue.

Day 6: Hue - Saigon (B/L)

Transfer to the airport for a flight to Saigon. Take a half-day city tour: Reunification Hall, Notre Dame Cathedral, General Post Office, Former US Embassy, City Hall, War Museum of remnants. Shopping at Ben Thanh market. Overnight in Saigon.

Day 7: Tay Ninh - Cu Chi Tunnels (B/L)

Depart to Tay Ninh, the headquarters of one of Vietnam's most interesting indigenous religions Caodaism. Enjoy in a noon ceremony in the Cao Dai Cathedral – center of religion. Lunch at local restaurant. Return to visit Cu Chi maze underground tunnels (over 200 km long) and watching a documentary film, making self discovery into tunnels. Back to Saigon. Overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Depart Saigon (B)

After breakfast, the time before departure is on your own, transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
