The contest of ASEAN tourist guide has just been held for the first time in Yogyakarta (Indonesia) by ASEAN Tourist Guide Association and Indonesian Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

18 tourist guides from 9 countries including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam participated in the contest enthusiastically to promote ASEAN as a common destination.

Vietnamese tourist guides who attended the contest are Huynh Cong Hieu from Saigontourist Travel Service Company and Tan My Hanh from Vitours Company. These two tourist guides are listed in top 8 tourist guides. In the next round, the jury appreciated highly Huynh Cong Hieu’s presentation on Ha Long Bay and Tan My Hanh’s presentation on Hoi An Ancient Town. Finally, Vietnamese tourist guide Tan My Hanh is listed in top 5 tourist guides after her presentation on tourist site of a country in ASEAN.

Thailand will be the host country of ASEAN tourist guide contest 2014.
